Despite many negative reviews about this Jackie Chan's last action movie, I simply felt entertained and enjoyed it when I watched this movie in the Galeria 21 with my siblings and cousins. Okay, maybe the action is not as tense as other Jackie Chan's movie (especially his movies in the 90s) and don't have intricate fight sequence. But I don't care. There are many good action movies that didn't even managed to stay in my memories but it's not the case in CZ12 (Chinese Zodiac). This film managed to left impression on me. I am moved because it aims to teach us the importance of appreciating and preserving our history. Well, how can't I? I always have interest to history and artifacts (maybe the only one person in my surrounding that really love to go to museums).
This movie told us about JC, a thief that leads a mercenary team to recover several lost artifacts from the Old Summer Palace, the bronze heads of the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals which was looted by foreigners in the 1800s. Actually, I didn't planned to watch movie in Bali since I usually go to Blitzmegaplex and they didn't screen this film (It is only screened in Cinema 21 and XXI). But my cousins and my brother never watch a movie in movie theater before and I wanted them to have the experience. That's why we went to the nearest movie theater from my house and CZ12 was the only movie that was played there beside Habibie and Ainun. I was so glad that they enjoyed their first experience, laugh together in every comedic scenes and thrilled to watch every action scenes.
Jackie Chan is 60 years old now and he won't do any action scenes again so this is his last action movies. For me, just this fact alone was enough to make me watch this film. Moreover, this movie could made me laugh and entertained me. Just give it a try!
